49 and counting…

I have 49 posts describing my Joy(s) for 2023. That would be like 49 pieces of paper in a Joy Jar – one for each week of the year so far. So yes, it has been a joyous year to date.

This week has been a little slow though in the Joy department. The sun did shine for a few hours over the last seven days. It hasn’t been too cold and I did manage three 10kms walks to the Brickworks and back. My backpack is up to 9.5lbs with the addition of an IPad. I still have to add a sleeping bag, but that should be it!

I worked some more on my blog site for my Camino posts – www.caroltomany.com. I added a subscription form and have two people signed up already. I signed up for a TDSB continuing education course to help me refine this WordPress site even more. A three month course for $115.00 is a pretty good deal. I may even be able to host other people’s sites. Hostinger allows me, for a very good rate, to host 100 sites – who would have thought.

I wrote separate posts on two words new to me – “marrier” and “frisson.” I love new words especially when I can write about them. I also found two more books on the Camino and have ordered them from Indigo. So glad to find both of them in one place for free shipping from a Canadian company.

Christmas cleaning continues around the house. I have decided that I can separate the work into several levels of cleaning – Primary – surface clean. Secondary – move furniture and clean baseboards etc. Tertiary – throw out “stuff” and reorganize. I managed to do a bit of cleaning on all three levels – organized Joy.

In spite of all this cleaning, we still managed to have mice!! This is the first time in 40 years that I have seen a mouse in the house. Well, I didn’t actually see them. I saw their droppings under the sink and bought traps. So far we have caught five, who would have thought. Today the set trap was empty. I’m hoping we have got them all.

I’m a bit late in posting this. I have been busy on my other Camino blog – so sorry. My Joy for the Joy Jar this week has to be my Camino preparations. Next week I will start Christmas, but this week has been a week of 2024 holiday prep.

Have an awesome week!!
