OK, the gods of the universe have made contact through the oracle of Facebook again. I came across a meme from someone I may have subscribed to (or not as the case may be.) The meme began\u2026 \u201cread poetry; write poetry; live poetry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was intrigued. I read poetry. I don\u2019t write poetry. But I would like to live poetry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t write poetry because it is such a sacred medium that I know I could never come close to its spirituality with my mundane soul. However, I think that I could live poetry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can see blackbirds and think of Robert Service or remember the \u201cTwa Corbies.\u201d I can look in the mirror at 6:00am on a good day and agree that I look like \u201cThe Wreck of the Hesperus.\u201d I can tell Mary Oliver what I plan to do with \u201cmy one wild and precious life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think that I may spend some time on this weblog \u201cliving poetry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, for example, because it was April 20 and extremely cold (2C) for this time of year that I had to wear a scarf to walk my 10kms maintenance walk. I chose a lace scarf I had designed and knit in lace weight yarn. It was white and I had worked in beads. I immediately thought of a line from \u201cThe Highwayman\u201d \u2026. \u201ca bunch of lace at his chin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact I originally designed the scarf from the poem \u201cAedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
