W. B. Yeats is one of my favourite poets. Today I went for coffee with a friend. We talked of keeping diaries (weblogs) and what one writes for all the world to see or not as the case may be. She mentioned Anais Nin, who had many lovers and might have had a very “racy” diary (or two). I offered W. B. Yeats and wondered if his entries would be full Maud Gonne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, diary entries are surreal. In the brief moments, of writing a post, I am in another world. I am in the poem or an elusive word, or the entanglements of a sentence. I am out of this mundane existence and dancing with the fairies of my imagination on a higher plane – aflame, exalted and if it all works out intellectually satisfied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I toyed with using the word “ravished” for “satisfied.” However, I am not an Anais Nin. I went to a convent school. I understand more of the angst of Yeats and his sense of “unfulfillment.” It too is a driving force towards consummation, which may not be of this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The pictures are the best I could do for “other worldly” while still being “of this world” – A midsummer night’s post. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Land of Heart’s Desire (somewhat)Come Fairies, take me out of thisdull world, for I would ride withyou upon the wind and danceupon the mountains like a flame!W.
