It was August 25. A little soon I thought for Fall. We have almost a month left of summer so why the leaf meal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dolly Parton died today and the world wept for a country singer with a heart of gold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was just another reminder that \u201ctempus fugit.\u201d I wrote three posts today as I caught up on the poems I have been living &#8211; trying to pack as much in before the axeman cometh &#8211; maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raking leaves in August suggests an early winter &#8211; sigh. Soon I will plant daffodil bulbs and listen to Christmas Carols on my walks, as I wait for spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The title of the post echoes the title of another poem that I often quote with different words, \u201cToday We Have Naming of Parts.\u201d It raises the mundane to the sublime at times. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I raked leaves.
