I lived this poem today as an afterthought. I have to live in a logical world. I need to be grounded. My escape into the mystical world of hopes and dreams is through music and poetry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I study music as a cerebral exercise – music theory, conservatory exams etc. and I comment on poetry as a writing exercise complete with all the grammar rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are external controls to reign in a maverick mind. I can\u2019t let myself believe in that other world, because I would be gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At my music lesson today we talked a little of the creative mind and my music teacher asked me if I believed in mystical inspiration. I shrugged the idea off, perhaps a little too quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m afraid of going there. It is unknown territory and yes, I am terrified. In the mystical mazes of the mind there are no maps, no logic, no escapes. Your only hope is angels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
