I had originally bought this book because it was described as a walk through coastal East Anglia. Well, yes it is a walk through a good number of towns in that county, however, it is primarily a meander through the author’s mind on various topics. Not least among them is a description of a matchstick model of the Temple of Jerusalem. Strange as this may seem, it is a compelling read. Although I prefer books about compelling walks, I don’t mind the odd diversion and “The Rings of Saturn” was a lovely diversion.
