Today, yesterday and I know it will be the same for tomorrow, the leaves aren’t sticking to the trees they are falling too many, too often, too soon.
I try to hold onto summer as long as possible. The world is in the winter of its discontent. I don’t need more hate, more ugliness. I need to see beauty, compassion, intelligence.

Yesterday I walked 20kms. I needed to walk away from the politics. I walked through the cemetery where I have prayed. I started reading John O’Donohue’s, Walking in Wonder. I have to find wonder and awe again and maybe the divine. I think daily of walking another Camino in spring, as I rake leaves in the fall. The pilgrimage is a different world. It’s an escape from this political stranglehold. It is how I mend my soul.
