Some may have been confused by my last post, which suggested that one could walk on poetry. I actually had another poem on my mind, when I wrote that post. It was the poem for October 26. I couldn’t write that day and I couldn’t live this poem that day.

Five years ago my husband died on October 26. For 45 years we walked the delicate carpets of our dreams. I embroidered his memory from the cloths of his life into the patchwork of my life.

And he gave me the space to design these cloths of Heaven

It was a charmed life.
