The Joy of NYC

Well I didn’t get to go to New York, but my daughter did for two days. The trip was originally to be a mother – daughter junket for her best friend, however, her girlfriend’s mother didn’t have enough time on her passport – 6 months, so she couldn’t go. Katherine bought the tour package from her friend’s mother and got to fly to NYC, spend two nights in a hotel there and take in a show at Radio City Music Hall – the Rockettes. She loved it and I loved the fact that she got to have an exciting trip just before Christmas.

My other joys for the week were:

1. Three consecutive walks in bright, sometimes sunny weather to Mud Creek and back.

2. Finishing my 9th Camino book. Well, I actually hate it when they end, however, I have ordered 2 more from Indigo and again – free shipping.

3. Got all my small Christmas gifts wrapped. Got the tree up and decorated. Got my menu organized for the days leading up to Christmas and my Christmas turkey is thawing in the fridge.

4. My son and his partner will leave next week from Alberta, with truck and trailer, to return to Ontario and live on their land near Timmins. They did buy Arctic sleeping bags, at my request. I have my fingers crossed.

5. The snow has held off, so the preparations for Christmas have been easier. I love a white Christmas, but I hate slogging through the drifts and worrying about the ice.

I will probably have 53 posts of Joy for 2023, because I posted January1 for the last week of 2022. I wanted to post on the first day of the new year. So my Joy for my second to last post for 2023 has to be the vicarious enjoyment of my children’s trips. I could also add the vicarious enjoyment of other people’s Camino trips through their books – can’t wait for my next to arrive.

Have a Joyous week.
