Ride A Wild Horse….

April is National Poetry Month. Fortunately Stephen King from the V7N blogging group posted the other day about National Tartan Day and that reminded me that there were a few sites that list these dedicated days, weeks and/or months. This is a big help to bloggers, who run out of steam..er..words from time to time. You can just pop over to http://www.holidayinsights.com or something similar and pick up an idea for a post.

For example, today is Draw a Bird Day, which actually started in 1943. Follow the link; it’s a wonderful story. Coming up soon is Change Your Name Day and this may be linked to Honour Your Middle Name Day – not quite sure.

Anyway in recognition of National Poetry Month – I would like to post one of my favourite poems.

Ride a Wild Horse” by Hannah Kahn

Ride a wild horse with purple wings

striped yellow and black

except his head

which must be red.

Ride a wild horse

against the sky–

hold tight to his wings

before you die

whatever else you leave undone

once ride a wild horse

into the sun.

Into the Sun

Please tell me what your favourite poem is.

April is also National Write a Poem Month – I still think that we need a group for those who just write Limericks or short cute poems that rhyme 🙂  Life is about creating fun…let’s have more of it!!!

Have a wonderful day!!
