Raising Hare was recommended by my sister-in-law who lives in Edinburgh. It was first published in Britain, where it became a “best seller.” In fact, listed on the cover and several inside pages are 39 endorsements from readers such as Angelina Jolie and The New York Times. It is an amazing book. I read it in 22 hours. I couldn’t put it down. Set during covid the auther tells the story of how she found a baby hare, a leveret, on the side of country road near her home. Realizing it would likely die, she brings it home. She is not planing to keep it as a pet; she just wants it to be strong enough to return to the wild. What ensues is an amazing account of the co-existence between man and nature. Definitely a must read.
