This is not actually a book about walking although it is a book about finding wonder and possibly the divine. John O’Donohue is a priest, a poet, a philosopher, an authority on Irish mysticism and a media mentor in the sense that he, along with John Quinn, presented radio broadcasts on thoughtful topics to help listeners find wonder in their lives.
I needed to find more wonder in my life too, so I ordered this book from the library. I was not disappointed.
The author is “elation” incarnate. John O’Donohue has a joie de vivre that spills from these pages to infuse the reader with his sense of wonder and joy.
I will now walk with a lighter heart and a more curious mind. The soul searching is still there but less strenuous. Enjoy!
