The Red Wheel Barrow
So much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow
glazed with rain
water
beside the white
chickens
William Carlos Williams
Today will be one of those all day rains. I’ll sit in my big chair and do some needlework, two crossword puzzles in the Saturday paper and idle on Facebook. I’m glad I took some time earlier to look for poems on rain because I found one of my favourites.
Today I will live this poem –
The Big Comfy Chair
So much depends
upon
A big comfy
chair
Worn with
age
Beside the white
orchids

Some days are just this – immobile, grey, pensive, filled with little activity except the movement of a needle, the pencilling of letters, or the sigh of the housebound. Tomorrow the sun will shine.
