Idleness

The title should read “The Importance of Idleness.” I’ve been a little idle these days. Putting the garden to bed is not my favourite activity. The days are perfect. I did manage to plant my bulbs the other day and I got some manure around my favourite roses. But I’m slow to get at it. I look for diversions in the morning. I might have gone for a walk but I’m walking tomorrow and I really need a project to get me focused.

Fortunately I have a new book on the Camino to read – Walk, Eat, Repeat. So far it looks good. I like the writer and there is a recipe at the end of every chapter. Did I mention that she walks the Frances from St. Jean? If I made every dish, I would have to walk another Camino to lose some weight.

Anyway I have come to a momentary impasse. I need to move forward. I usually know when I’m about to start something new, I start to clean the house. This hasn’t happened yet.

Well maybe this book will be my impetus. Perhaps I have too many stones in the river and it’s damned up rather than streaming along.

However, this poem was sent to me today to make me think about my idleness, my time wasting. I’ve decided to walk to the Brickworks for a coffee and mull over my options.

The pictures are from the Brickworks. I need to get back to what’s important 😊
