Knit it again, Sam…..

…or how to be memorable in how you say, what you say.  I came across an article in the paper this morning on famous movie lines and why they have become memorable. It seems that a few computer scientists from Cornell University analyzed scripts from over 1,000 movies; fed them into a computer and had […]

A Pansy Scheme…?

I am in another photo scavenger hunt – always a diversion. My second photo in the hunt is for the heading “Face.” I was out for an early morning walk and came across these adorable “faces.” Pansy “Faces” They reminded me of a knitting designer whose work I absolutely LOVE – Susan Duckworth. I tried

A Swaddling of lace…

…or a swathing of lace. I had packed a number of scarves in a carryall in preparation for picture taking.  My daughter said that she would be my model, so I wasted no time!  This window of  a good mood can close quickly.  Anyway, the carryall lay on the floor…waiting. At one point I took

Jingle Bells?

I finally found very tiny jingle bells to finish Snowy Evening Scarf.  The only problem is there is no “jingle” in them.  Someone has made a jingle bell without the little ball that makes all the sound – read fun or magic!! This is akin to pianos without keys or violins without strings. OK the

Here it is: Aquarians are the future thinkers.  They are

A Sheep Share….

…not a sheep shear.  Here is a picture taken by one of the people in my Photography network.  His name is Sideshow John and his facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/slideshow.john I thought that it was just too perfect, so I asked him if I could post it on my blog and he said “of course.” Anyway,

The SOS of knitting…

Yes, we all know that knitting can be rescue therapy when things go wrong in this world; but this is about another approach to knitting. My friend sent me a link to a video of a woman who is trying to show the historical and cultural significance of the binary system.  Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoiuYw5pVQ4&feature=youtu.be

Snowy Evening KAL

Snowy Evening Shawl Soon I am going to be starting my Snowy Evening Knit-a-long.  We will be knitting an oblong scarf based on the stitches in a triangular shawl that I designed several years ago.  I have varied the stitches a little but essentially you will be capturing a snowy evening like this in lace.

My brain has thawed….

I haven’t posted in a while because my brain has been frozen.  For the past few weeks, I have been debating whether to by a Mac laptop and this is all that I’ve been able to think about.  Do I really have to spend $1,500.00 to be able to edit videos and maybe do a
